The German air rescue operator has delivered an H145 D3 to a base near Stuttgart – the last base to receive a new helicopter

German air rescue organization DRF Luftrettung has announced the completion of its fleet renewal program, with all bases now flying Airbus H135s and H145 D3 helicopters.

The announcement follows the introduction of a new H145 to Leonberg base, near Stuttgart – the last base to be upgraded as part of the organization’s five-year process.

The standardization of DRF Luftrettung’s fleet is expected to simplify processes, standardize procedures, and allow for more flexibility in crew management for both pilots and emergency paramedics. It is also expected to make maintenance and training more efficient.

“Our aim is to always offer our patients the best possible care in order to give them the best chance of survival and recovery,” said Dr Krystian Pracz, CEO of DRF Luftrettung. “Of course, this also includes a helicopter fleet that meets the latest standards, is versatile, and offers our crews optimal working conditions and the highest level of safety.”

DRF Luftrettung also recently joined the German Federal Association of Patient Advocates in Hospitals (BPiK).
