Entrol enhances its firefighting training simulator capabilities

As wildfire season intensifies across the northern hemisphere, flight simulator manufacturer Entrol has announced the launch of its enhanced firefighting training simulator capabilities, now available for all Entrol mission-capable simulators.

The latest addition to Entrol’s simulator range focuses on enhancing pilots’ abilities to tackle wildfires, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and real-world data. Thus, the Entrol ENVISION visual database, powered by Unreal Engine 5, offers geo-specific terrain with satellite imagery, providing what the manufacturer describes as an unparalleled level of realism. 

The simulators allow pilots to train under various conditions, with the ability to position fires anywhere on the terrain, manage fire drops to extinguish flames, collect water from surrounding areas, select between water, foam, or retardant, adjust fire intensity, smoke characteristics, and visual representation of burnt areas and treetop fire types.

The importance of training and education in firefighting for Entrol lies in the growing global threat posed by wildfires, which have become increasingly frequent and severe. By equipping pilots with simulation tools, the manufacturer aims to ensure they are well prepared to tackle these emergencies effectively, thereby protecting lives, property, and natural resources.

Czech police recently purchased an Entrol H145 FNPT II MCC flight simulator.
