Entrol expands Australia footprint with dual simulator deal for Toll Aviation

The agreement will see Toll Aviation deploy new Bell 429 and AW139 mission training devices to support rotary-wing operations across law enforcement, SAR, and EMS

Spanish simulator manufacturer Entrol has strengthened its position in the Asia-Pacific market through a dual simulator sale to Australian operator Toll Aviation, reflecting growing investment in advanced mission and aeromedical training capabilities.

The deal includes a Bell 429 FTD Level 6 simulator and an AW139 FTD Level 5 device, marking a further expansion of Entrol’s presence in the Asia-Pacific market as demand grows for high-fidelity mission training technology.

The Bell 429 simulator has been configured primarily for law enforcement operations and includes real Garmin GTN 750 avionics, mission-specific databases, FLIR simulation capability, and tactical lighting systems.

The device also incorporates vibration systems and debriefing tools aimed at replicating operational flight conditions more accurately.

Meanwhile, the AW139 simulator has been tailored for search and rescue (SAR) and emergency medical services (EMS) missions, featuring a hoist control station and geo-specific Australian terrain modeling designed to reflect Toll Aviation’s operational environment.

Both simulators are equipped with Entrol’s Enwall LED visual system and Envision mission engine, which the company said were intended to improve realism for crews operating in complex or visually challenging conditions.

The agreement reflects continued investment across the air medical, rescue, and public safety aviation sectors in simulation-based training as operators seek to reduce operational risk, improve mission readiness, and lower aircraft training costs.

Australia remains a significant market for rotary-wing emergency operations due to its large geographic coverage areas, remote communities, and reliance on helicopter-supported SAR and medical retrieval services.

Toll Aviation operates across emergency services, government, and specialist aviation sectors in Australia and has historically supported missions including EMS, law enforcement, and offshore operations.

Entrol, headquartered in Madrid, manufactures European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)- and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-certified flight simulators and training devices, with installations in more than 35 countries.
