Everdrone partners with Stockholm ambulance services
Drone operations are due to begin this year, and will run until at least spring 2027 under the current contract
Drone technology developer Everdrone has signed a new agreement to provide emergency services support across Stockholm County, Sweden.
The partnership, between the company and the Ambulance Services Administration – an agency of the Stockholm local government – will see Everdrone use its drone systems to enable the rapid delivery of defibrillators and early situational awareness at the scene of incidents.
The contract will see operational deployment begin this year. The current agreement runs until spring 2027.
“The collaboration demonstrates a growing understanding that autonomous drone systems can strengthen society’s preparedness and deliver assistance very quickly in acute and life-threatening situations,” said Mats Sällström, CEO of Everdrone. “We have already conducted an analysis of previous acute incidents as well as airspace availability to determine the geographical placement of the drone system.”
The partnership is Everdrone’s second in Sweden, following the implementation of a similar program in the Västra Götaland Region, which has been in operation for several years.
The company also launched drone services in the French region of Normandy last year.
