Gama Aviation in takeover talks with Specialist Aviation Services
Gama Aviation has confirmed that it is in talks to acquire Specialist Aviation Services, which serves the UK air ambulance sector
Discussions between Gama Aviation, Specialist Aviation Services, and their respective stakeholders are reportedly advanced, and are expected to be concluded in the next few weeks.
Any resulting deal will still be subject to further negotiations, due diligence, and board approvals, however.
Specialist Aviation Services provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), and helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) to a number of UK air ambulance charities, such as Essex & Herts Air Ambulance and London’s Air Ambulance.
Gama stated: “The board of Gama Aviation is aware of industry market speculation, and confirms that it is in discussions to acquire the business of Specialist Aviation Services Limited. The interest … is consistent with the Group’s strategy to grow its Special Missions business.”
However, the company added: “Accordingly, there can be no certainty any transaction will be completed, and if it does, what terms such a transaction might take place.”
Gama Aviation took over as Wales Air Ambulance Charity’s new aviation partner in December 2023.
