Nick Loporcaro was described by GMR as a ‘highly accomplished and seasoned executive’

Medical transport company Global Medical Response (GMR) has announced the appointment of Nick Loporcaro as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The appointment will come into effect on 17 April. Loporcaro will also join GMR’s Board of Directors alongside the assumption of his new roles.

Lopocaro joins GMR from the Vistria Group – a private investment firm that specializes in the healthcare and knowledge sectors – where he where he has served as Senior Operating Partner since January 2022. Prior to this, Loporcaro also served as the CEO of Landmark Health between September 2018 and December 2021.

“Nick is a highly accomplished and seasoned executive with a proven track record of successfully leading scaled healthcare companies across the entire patient care continuum,” said Jay Grinney, Chairman of GMR. “The unique combination of Nick’s operating rigor, strategic acumen, and deep experience leading high-quality clinical organizations makes him the ideal CEO of GMR moving forward.”

“GMR is a critical pillar of the healthcare delivery infrastructure across the country, and I am honored by the opportunity to lead the organization in building upon its clear leadership position within the industry,” said Nick Loporcaro. “I look forward to working with the Board, the leadership team, and our committed base of over 38,000 clinicians, front-line, and support team members to serve our communities and patients in their most critical time of need.”

GMR ordered three more Bell 407GXi helicopters to expand its fleet in February 2023.
