H145 simulator boosts air rescue pilot training in Germany
A new H145 simulator will boost pilot training capacity and operational readiness across Germany’s air rescue network
DRF Akademie, part of DRF Luftrettung, is expanding its training capacity with a new Airbus H145 D3 H10 flight training device (FTD) Level 3 from Reiser Simulation and Training. Recently qualified by the German Federal Aviation Office (LBA), the simulator strengthens H145 pilot training and complements the existing H145/H135 full flight simulator in Frankfurt.
Florian Rabe, Managing Director of DRF Akademie, said: “With this investment, we are taking another decisive step toward future-proof pilot training. As one of the first organizations using this new device, we benefit directly from our close cooperation with Reiser Simulation and Training, to respond quickly to operational requirements while maintaining the highest training standards for our clients. The new simulator complements our hoist simulator ‘hoistAR’, enabling a broader and highly flexible training portfolio.”
The simulator will also benefit DRF Luftrettung’s crews across its 32 helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) bases. CEO Krystian Pracz explained: “In combination with our state-of-the-art fleet, the new simulator provides our crews with optimal training conditions. This not only enhances training quality but also safeguards operational readiness.”
Equipped with mixed reality and the latest avionics software, the simulator is scheduled to enter service in June in Frankfurt, operated by Lufthansa Aviation Training.
Reiser and TRU Simulation recently launched virtual reality training for the Airbus H125.
