Heli-One maintenance contract for Norwegian AW101s extended

Heli-One Norwegian helicopter AW101

Heli-One, which provides support to Norway’s search and rescue (SAR) helicopter fleet alongside Leonardo, will continue to operate under the contract until 2030

Heli-One has announced that its support contract with Leonardo to provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to the Norwegian All-Weather Search and Rescue Helicopter (NAWSARH) helicopter program has been extended and expanded.

The extension will see Heli-One – a subsidiary of CHC Helicopter – continue to provide MRO services alongside Leonardo to a fleet of 16 AW101 SAR Queen helicopters operated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF)  until 2030.

The contract will see Heli-One’s Norwegian maintenance specialists continue to work alongside Leonardo staff, embedded at RNoAF bases around the country to ensure 24/7 fleet availability.

“We are delighted to further grow our successful relationship with Leonardo,” said Carolyn Forsyth, General Manager of Sales and Commercial at Heli-One. “Our team has decades of experience maintaining helicopters based in the North Sea and we are fully committed to applying our expertise in support of the AW101 SAR Queen.”  

Mark Goddard, Head of Customer Service Management at Leonardo UK, added: “We are honored to support 330 Squadron and the Royal Norwegian Air Force as they carry out lifesaving search and rescue operations.”

Heli-One was first awarded the contract in January 2023.
