Jammu and Kashmir Police searching for helicopters to rent

The police service has invited bids from registered aviation companies for renting helicopters under a ‘leave and licence’ agreement
India’s Jammu and Kashmir Police are looking to ensure the faster mobility of its force by renting helicopters.
The service floated the tender on 29 October and invited bids from registered aviation companies that have a minimum of three airworthy light helicopters in its fleet for operations in Jammu and Kashmir on a ‘leave and licence’ basis for a period of three years – 16 January 2023 to 16 January 2026.
The helicopters will be integrated into the ‘disaster management plan’ (DMP) and ‘emergency response plan’ (ERP) prepared by the police.
The company that is eventually selected will be required to park one operating helicopter at Srinagar-Jammu helipad, and should be able to immediately put in place an additional standby helicopter in the event of an emergency.
The Indian Coast Guard added its own Light Helicopters to its fleet earlier this year.
