Lia’s Wings opens new base at London Biggin Hill Airport
The new base of operations will give the charity a forward base in southeast England, close to one of its aviation partners
UK-based pediatric air medical charity Lia’s Wings has announced the opening of a new base of operations at London Biggin Hill Airport.
The base will serve as a new outpost for the charity, which primarily operates from Bristol Airport in southwest England and Teesside Airport in the northeast, providing domestic interhospital transfers and international medical repatriations of pediatric and neonatal patients.
The move will also bring Lia’s Wings closer to one of its aviation partners, SkyCare Repatriation, which launched operations from Biggin Hill earlier this year.
“This collaboration with Biggin Hill marks a huge step in our charity’s development,” said Charlotte Young, CEO of Lia’s Wings. “Demand for our service has boomed and in just over two years the charity has doubled the number of children we are supporting, taking on more complex cases, travelling greater distances, and we are making a massive impact.”
