UK capital lands new air ambulance service

Operated by SkyCare Repatriation, a medical repatriation service, the Pilatus PC-12 NGX air ambulance is set to provide critical care transport for health services, insurance providers and self-funding patients. While the PC-12 NGX will primarily serve missions across Europe, SkyCare’s medical repatriation will also extend its service to meet further demand worldwide.

In addition to the air ambulance, SkyCare Repatriation also operates ground ambulances based at London Biggin Hill Airport.

The PC-12 NGX affords operators the ability to cover a whole range of assignments with a single-aircraft type, including surveillance, medical assistance, cargo transport and search and rescue. Tools and features include enhanced graphical displays, weather on the vertical situation display, full ADS-B In functionality, 3D audio, detailed 2D airport moving maps, and the SmartRunway and SmartLanding awareness and advisory system.

London’s Air Ambulance Charity launched two new helicopters in October following the success of its Up Against Time appeal.
