Libyan Air Ambulance receives new helicopter
Libyan Air Ambulance has received delivery of a Bell 505 – the first of three helicopters to be delivered to the organization
It follows the signing of a contract for three rotorcraft – a mixture of Bell 429s and Bell 505s – in March of this year.
Following the receipt of the new helicopter, Libyan Air Ambulance has confirmed that it will now send several pilots to receive the necessary training to fly it.
The new aircraft are intended to improve the efficiency of the service’s emergency medical services (EMS) response, and to enable easier access to more remote areas which lack runways for fixed-wing aircraft. The organization has historically focused on the use of jets to deliver its services.
