Life Flight Network expands Bell 407GXi HEMS fleet
The fleet expansion will strengthen the US not-for-profit provider’s ability to deliver critical care transport across remote and challenging operating regions
Bell Textron has announced an order for three additional Bell 407GXis from Life Flight Network, the largest not-for-profit air medical program in the USA and operator of the world’s largest Bell helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) fleet.
The new aircraft will join Life Flight Network’s existing fleet of 35 Bell helicopters and support its rapid-response operations across the Pacific Northwest, Intermountain West and Hawaii. The organization operates around 60 rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft, providing 24/7 ICU-level care and support to hospitals, emergency medical services agencies, and police and fire departments.
“For nearly five decades, Life Flight Network has provided air medical care and transport throughout the western states, and Bell is honored to take part in supporting their lifesaving operations,” said Bell Managing Director Lane Evans. “These new Bell 407GXis highlight the reliability and capability our products provide to supporting lifesaving operations when minutes matter the most.”
Life Flight Network CEO Ben Clayton added: “These three Bell 407GXis bring proven reliability and exceptional performance to our fleet.”
The Bell 407GXi features the Garmin G1000H NXi flight deck, designed to improve situational awareness and reduce pilot workload during critical HEMS missions.
Bell recently announced Air Methods’ master purchasing agreement for up to 27 Bell aircraft, including 15 IFR-configured 407GXis.
