MedX AirOne to rebrand as Classic Air Medical
MedX AirOne, an air ambulance program that serves northern Nevada, has announced that it will be rebranded as Classic Air Medical
The service, run as a department of healthcare provider Intermountain Health, will be incorporated into the Classic Air Medical brand, and the MedX name retired.
Classic Air Medical – originally an independent air medical transport provider – was purchased by Intermountain Health in 2021. At the time of the acquisition, it operated services from 22 bases in the US states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
As the larger and more recognized of Intermountain’s two emergency medical services (EMS) operators, it was decided that the Classic brand would be retained and the MedX one retired.
Intermountain has confirmed that the rebranding will not have any effect on how flights are operated.
“The decision has now been made to retire the name MedX AirOne and use Classic Air Medical in Nevada starting July of 2024,” explained Serenity Orr, a spokesperson for Intermountain Health, Classic Air Medical.
The Nevada Army Guard acquired two new Lakota UH-72B helicopters from the US federal Department of Defense (DOD) last year.
