Colin Smith has over 30 years of aerospace and defense experience

Global provider of helicopter maintenance and support services, Heli-One has appointed Colin Smith as Head of Growth and Strategy.

He will be responsible for the development and execution of Heli-One’s business strategy to bring products to market, support customers and position the company for growth.

Smith brings over 30 years of experience to the role. He has worked as a US Navy helicopter pilot, test pilot and maintenance officer. After his military career, Smith worked for Bell Helicopter and Hensoldt, leading business development and program management.

Miguel Carrasco, President, Heli-One, said: “Colin joins us at an exciting time as we continue to execute on our growth strategy. The $42 billion maintenance services and MRO helicopter market is expanding and demand for support services is growing rapidly.

“Colin’s wealth of industry, aviation, and military experience will be invaluable as we respond to increased demand and work closely with our customers to support their continued success.”

Smith added: “I am delighted to take up this opportunity at Heli-One to lead the execution of our growth strategy. My focus will be on anticipating the market and responding to the customer requirements with innovative maintenance solutions that will optimize their aircraft availability and mission performance.”
