The full-service helicopter training school, HeliSpeed Academy, has received its European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s Civil Aviation Authority Approved Training Organisations approval at Blackpool airport in the UK

It’s been almost two years since Blackpool Airport saw any helicopter training. HeliSpeed Academy will provide courses suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots. There will be trial lessons and introductory flying experiences available for first-timers interested in the challenge, as well as a whole collection of advanced training courses for professional pilots.

Gemma Walker, Operations Director at HeliSpeed, commented: “With a current global pilot skills shortage and the need for specialised operator training, HeliSpeed Academy has been specifically designed to move away from ‘high volume’ pilot training and offer individualised focus and attention to each student-pilot, with multiple career pathway options.”

Geoff Packer, CEO at HeliSpeed Solutions, added: “In today’s market there is a high expectation on professional helicopter pilots globally, at HeliSpeed Academy, we have ensured that we are delivering helicopter pilot training which is aligned with the values and expectations of helicopter operators around the world.”
