New Minnesota helicopter for Guardian Flight
Guardian Flight, a subsidiary of Global Medical Response, has stationed a new Bell 407GXi in Grand Rapids, Minnesota
The helicopter will serve the communities of Itasca County, including the town of Grand Rapids itself.
It joins Guardian Flight’s fixed-wing service, also based in the town, which has operated from there since August 2016.
The helicopter will initially operate for 12 hours a day for the first two weeks, before transitioning to round-the-clock availability.
“The addition of a medical helicopter will have a significant impact on residents and visitors to Grand Rapids during times of critical illness or injury,” said Jared Sherman, Air Chief Operating Officer for Guardian Flight. “We look forward to working alongside other local first responders and healthcare providers to enhance the delivery of timely medical care to the community.”
Fellow aeromedical provider Air Evac Lifeteam announced the opening of a new base in Laurel County, Kentucky, earlier this month.
