The helicopter, which will be operated by the Brazilian Army, is the first of a fleet of 12 helicopters due for delivery by manufacturer Sikorsky
Sikorsky has announced the delivery of a new UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter to the Brazilian Army.
The helicopter is the first of a fleet of 12 rotorcraft of the same type due for delivery, which will enhance Brazil’s tactical airlift, medical evacuation, and disaster response capabilities.
The UH-60M Black Hawk is capable of carrying up to four crew members and 11 passengers. It has a cruise speed of 279.7km/h, and also has a cargo hook capacity of 4,082kg.
“The arrival of the first UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter in Brazil is a proud moment in our ongoing partnership,” said Rich Benton, Sikorsky Vice President and General Manager. “These aircraft will play a critical role in supporting the Brazilian Army's operations, and we are committed to delivering exceptional logistical support to ensure their continued success.”
The Philippine Air Force received a delivery of five Black Hawks earlier this year.
