Omni Helicopters Guyana launches new S-92A
Aviation services provider Omni Helicopters Guyana has announced that it has finished phasing in the Sikorsky S-92A for its search and rescue (SAR) services
The new aircraft replaces the Leonardo AW139 previously used to operate SAR services across the South American nation.
The company stated that the SAR program was now entering ‘its next phrase, where Omni will be training new Guyanese SAR rear crews … using this aircraft’.
Omni’s S-92A features a dual hoist, a Nightsun forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera, a triple litter stretcher kit, an extended range fuel tank, and equipment to allow for Iridium Certus satellite communications, alongside cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Elsewhere in South America, the Argentinian government recently purchased six Bell 407GXi helicopters for SAR purposes.
