Billings Flying Service

The company, which specializes in heavy-lift and aerial firefighting operations, will be integrated into Quanta’s aviation subsidiary

Aviation services provider Billings Flying Service (BFS) has been bought by Quanta Services, a company that specializes in the maintenance of utility infrastructure.

The Montana-based firm will be integrated into Quanta Aviation Services, but will continue to operate autonomously. Under the terms of the sale, BFS will maintain control and execution of all existing contracts, and there will be no location or staff changes.

The acquisition will expand the Quanta Aviation Services fleet with BFS’s CH-47D heavy-lift helicopters, while giving BFS – which provides services in fields such as aerial firefighting and heavy-lift construction – access to greater resources and stability for growth.

“As we integrate into the Quanta Aviation Services family, our leadership, culture, and identity will remain unchanged,” said Bridger Blain, President and CEO of BFS.

Justin Gunsauls, President of Quanta Aviation Services, added: “The acquisition of Billings Flying Service marks a significant milestone in the continued growth of Quanta Aviation Services. Billings has built an exceptional reputation in heavy-lift and aerial firefighting, along with a culture and drive that perfectly complements our expanding aviation portfolio. We are proud to welcome their talented team into the QAS family and look forward to leveraging this partnership to better serve our customers worldwide.”

BFS was awarded an exclusive use firefighting contract by Montana’s Department of Natural Resources last year.
