REMSA Health acquires new helicopter
REMSA Health, an ambulance service provider based in the US state of Nevada, has unveiled a new air ambulance helicopter
The helicopter was unveiled at an event on 24 January at the REMSA Health campus in the city of Reno.
The aircraft – an Airbus H125 B3E – will operate as part of REMSA’s Care Flight air medical service, and has been named Care Flight 1.
The helicopter will enter full operation with REMSA this winter, and will be based in the city of Fallon.
It was funded through a $5.3 million grant from the William N Pennington Foundation, a nonprofit organization which provides funding to education, community services, health, and medical research.
“On behalf of REMSA Health and Care Flight, I extend my deepest gratitude to the William N Pennington Foundation for their generous support of our Care Flight program and sustaining rural healthcare for those in need,” said Barry Duplantis, President and CEO of REMSA Health. “Care Flight 1 bolsters our commitment to safely providing clinically excellent, compassionate care to patients throughout our region for decades to come.”
In addition to expanding its rotorcraft fleet, Care Flight relaunched its fixed-wing air ambulance service on 31 December, having suspended it for most of last year following the crash of one of its planes near Stagecoach, Nevada, in February 2023.
