SkyCare to expand air ambulance services with larger aircraft
Responding to rising demand for long-range critical care transfers, SkyCare is upgrading from its PC-12 NGX to a larger aircraft platform to expand international repatriation capacity and enable multi-patient medical missions
SkyCare is preparing a major expansion of its air ambulance operations, investing in a larger aircraft platform to enhance international repatriation and patient transport capacity.
Following sustained growth in demand for long-range repatriations, island transfers, and complex international missions, the UK-based air medical transport specialist has completed a strategic review and transition from its current Pilatus PC-12 NGX to a larger platform better suited to its global operations.
The new aircraft is expected to offer extended range, improved operational flexibility, and a dual-stretcher configuration, enabling transport of multiple patients where clinically appropriate. It will reduce fuel stops and support missions across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
SkyCare Managing Director Craig Bickers said: “This investment reflects the growing demand we are seeing for international medical repatriation and air ambulance services. Our new aircraft platform will allow us to support more patients, over greater distances, while maintaining the high clinical and operational standards that SkyCare is known for.”
He added: “As demand continues to grow, we are committed to investing in the resources, people, and equipment needed to deliver safe, professional, and responsive medical transport solutions wherever they are needed.”
