Trakka

The company will bolster the sheriff’s search and rescue (SAR) capabilities

Trakka Systems, a provider of critical vision technologies, has announced an ongoing partnership with the Pinal County Sherriff’s Office in Arizona.

The most recent collaboration is the acquisition by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office of Trakka’s TrakkaBeam TLXc, which expands the range of Trakka command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment utilized by the department and bolsters its capabilities in SAR operations.

The TLXc, an advanced model of Trakka’s high-intensity searchlights (HISL) series, introduces close-range camera-based situational awareness, in electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) formats, for the flight crew.

This unit has been integrated into the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office’s Huey helicopter. Pinal County’s fleet encompasses two OH-58s, one equipped with the TLX HISL, and one with a Total Mission Solution, which includes the TC-300, a four-axis stabilized long-range EO/IR camera system, TLX searchlight, and Trakka’s TM-100 mapping and video management software.

The fleet also includes a Cessna 206 outfitted with TrakkaMaps TM-100 equipment.

The acquisition of the TLXc has enhanced Pinal County’s SAR operations and surveillance activities capabilities, using its HISL and EO/IR technology.

“The TrakkaBeam TLXc has been chosen to support the demanding mission requirements of Pinal County Sheriff’s Office’s SAR helicopter,” said Mike Kipphorn, Director of Business Development, North America West at Trakka Systems. “The TLXc, with its easy-to-use multi-spectral filters and long-wave IR camera, is a great fit for Pinal County’s mission.”
