Trans Aero acquires UH-60A+ Black Hawk
The helicopter will be used by the US-based operator to conduct aerial firefighting and utility missions
The Sikorsky UH-60A+ Black Hawk was delivered by Black Widow Helicopters on 19 June, and is the second one of its type to be acquired by Trans Aero.
The aircraft will be used to support firefighting and utility operations. Kevin Shields, President of Trans Aero, described the helicopter as a ‘tremendous, all-in-one aerial firefighting weapon’ in a statement, and said that ‘adding a second Black Hawk to our fleet is a significant event for us’.
Alex Freidin, Vice President for the UH-60 Black Hawk Program at Black Widow Helicopters, added: “We are very pleased we could deliver this UH-60A+ Black Hawk to a legacy operator such as Trans Aero. Our ability to modernize US Army BEST Program UH-60 Black Hawk aircraft to local and international customers is an excellent way for clients to quickly acquire a helicopter platform renowned for its reliability, high performance and multi-role versatility.”
Black Widow Helicopters also recently announced a partnership with flight tracking and fleet management solution developer Spidertracks to install its hardware on its UH-60s.
Spidertracks, in turn, announced a merger with flight data monitoring firm Air Maestro earlier this month.
