UK’s National Police Air Service orders two more Airbus H135s
The aircraft, ordered under a framework agreement signed last year, will be delivered in 2028 to Airbus’s site in Oxford, where they will be configured for police operations
The UK National Police Air Service (NPAS) has placed an order for two more Airbus H135s.
The decision increases the number of aircraft ordered for NPAS’s total fleet renewal program to nine.
Funding for the two H135s was approved by the UK government earlier this year.
The new aircraft were ordered under a framework contract signed in 2025 with the BlueLight Commercial procurement agency, and are due to arrive at Airbus’s site in Oxford for configuration in 2028.
The first two fleet renewal helicopters arrived at Airbus Helicopters for configuration in April.
NPAS currently operates 16 H135s and four H145s from 14 locations, on behalf of 43 police forces in England and Wales.
“Together with our partners, we are building a fleet that will serve policing and the public for many years to come, ensuring NPAS remains ready to meet the evolving demands of operational policing,” said Chief Superintendent Fiona Gaffney, Accountable Manager at NPAS.
