Wingcopter and Sincronía Logística to deliver medical supplies by drone in Mexico
The partnership marks a significant step toward integrating drone technology into Mexico’s medical supply chain, enhancing access to care in remote and underserved regions
Mexican pharmaceutical logistics provider Sincronía Logística has announced a partnership with European drone manufacturer Wingcopter to promote the use of drones for medical supply deliveries across Mexico.
Under the agreement, Sincronía Logística will deploy a fleet of Wingcopter 198 drones for its own operations and on behalf of customers. The technology aims to overcome Mexico’s challenging terrain and infrastructure limitations, complementing the company’s existing high-value pharmaceutical and medical logistics services.
The collaboration follows a successful flight demonstration in August for Cruz Roja Mexicana Querétaro, the Mexican Red Cross division in Querétaro state. Regular drone-based delivery operations with the Red Cross are expected to begin later this year, initially transporting medicines and medical equipment for paramedics and first responders over distances of up to 8km, providing faster access to remote and hard-to-reach areas.
“Our vision is to set a new standard for modernization and innovation in healthcare logistics,” said Diego Garcia, Director of Business Excellence at Sincronía Logística. “Using the Wingcopter 198, we are giving patients faster access to treatments and medicines they urgently need. For us, this project goes beyond technology; it is a philanthropic initiative that embodies our commitment to saving lives and supporting healthcare professionals.”
Armando Koerig Gessinger, Chief Revenue Officer at Wingcopter, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential: “We are convinced that Sincronía Logística has the resources and competences to scale the use of our unmanned aerial system to a nationwide dimension within the next years. Wingcopter is honored by the partnership and the trust Sincronía Logística have placed in us.”
The companies plan to expand drone operations across Mexico in the coming years, aiming to establish a reliable, fast-response aerial logistics network for critical healthcare supplies.
Last year, Bell completed a 505 promotional tour of Mexico.
