GKN extends contract with Pratt & Whitney

Electrical wiring interconnection system

As per an agreement between its subsidiary GKN Fokker Elmo and Pratt & Whitney, GKN Aerospace will be continuing the design, supply, and support of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems for more than 30 aircraft engine programmes.

The contract covers a variety of turboprop, turboshaft and turbofan engines for the complete service life of those programmes. The work will take place at GKN Fokker Elmo facilities in the Netherlands and China. Deliveries to Pratt & Whitney’s Final Assembly Line will continue as previously defined.

John Pritchard, CEO of GKN Aerospace ASEA, stated: “Since 1998 we have been in a successful and valuable relationship with Pratt & Whitney. Through the signing of this long-term contract, we are proud and look forward to extending this into the next 30 years.”

This new contract builds on a more than 20-year relationship between the two companies. GKN Fokker Elmo is also a UTC Gold Supplier since June 2010, and delivers the Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems for all Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan (GTF) engines, which are under contract with Collins Aerospace.
