ADAC Luftrettung stations new Covid-19 helicopter in Germany
German air rescue service ADAC Luftrettung stationed a new helicopter at a hospital in Ludwigshafen, Germany, for Covid-19 patient transports
The helicopter, Christoph 112, has already seen nationwide use and has been flying twice a day. Minister Roger Lewentz said: “The Covid-19 pandemic brings up a lot of challenges that can only be solved if everyone works together. In rescue services, too, we should have a nationwide stance on solutions. I thank everyone for their quick actions which made the new helicopter possible.”
Christoph 112 is specially equipped for Covid-19 patient transports. Frederic Bruder, CEO of ADAC Luftrettung, said: “We are specialists who are well-equipped for complex scenarios, including Covid-19 transports. We are prepared for the future Covid-19 missions with Christoph 112.”
The helicopter has been active since 6 April seven days a week. On its first day it flew to a hospital in Koblenz, from there it flew to Solingen and then to Hesse.
