FireVision debuts in US aerial firefighting operations
A new real-time data platform is being trialed to enhance coordination and decision-making in complex US aerial wildfire operations
Rutledge Airborne has begun deploying Tabula’s FireVision platform across its aerial firefighting operations, marking its first operational use in the USA. Two aircraft will operate the system throughout the 2026 fire season in some of the country’s most complex and fast-moving wildfire environments.
Delivered in partnership with the Nevada Division of Forestry, FireVision will support operations across the Great Basin, spanning Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Texas, through interstate agreements. Rutledge Airborne will use the season to integrate the system into live missions while developing procedures for wider fleet adoption.
The deployment will be led by Chief Pilot Cade Boeger and Tanker Pilot Annie Story, combining operational use with structured testing and after-action reviews. FireVision is expected to enhance coordination between air and ground crews through real-time situational awareness.
Following this phase, Rutledge Airborne plans to expand FireVision across additional aircraft and integrate the platform further with ground and air attack operations.
Tabula recently announced that it would supply FireVision to Chilean forestry company Arauco.
