Loft Dynamics launches H145 VR simulator
One of the first H145 virtual reality (VR) simulators of this type will be delivered to air ambulance operator Boston MedFlight
Loft Dynamics has announced the release of its Airbus H145 VR simulator at this year’s Verticon trade show and conference in Dallas, Texas.
Boston MedFlight, a US-based air ambulance provider, was announced as an initial adopter of the simulator, which will be installed at one of its four bases.
The simulator is designed to support the training needs of a range of operators, including those working in helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS), law enforcement, and the military.
It features a full-scale replica cockpit with a 360° panoramic view, a full-body pose tracking system, and artificial intelligence (AI) powered performance tracking.
It also offers a range of customizable scenarios and environments for conditions such as night vision goggles (NVG), whiteout/brownout, and helicopter external sling load operations (HESLO).
The simulator also has a virtual demonstration mode that digitizes flight instructions from pilots and operator instructors, allowing them to provide immersive VR training experiences to trainees.
