A new aircraft for CHI St Joseph Health
US-based CHI St Joseph Health, which is a healthcare provider serving critically injured patients throughout the Brazos Valley region in Texas, has purchased an Airbus EC-135 P2+ helicopter for its Air Med 12 fleet
The new aircraft will be integrated into CHI St Joseph Health’s fleet, replacing a Bell 407 and, as such, enhance operational capabilities and improve the standard of care available to patients.
The Airbus EC-135 P2+ is a twin-engine, four-bladed rotor helicopter that offers a number of features designed to control engine performance, improves flight stability while reducing noise, improves pilot awareness and visibility, and Airbus Helicopters provides full training and support to the Air Med 12 team.
“The Airbus H135 will also offer a better overall experience for our patients. It has a high-set main rotor for safer patient loading and a much larger cabin,” said Billy Rice, Director of Air Med 12. “This light aircraft is known for its endurance, compact build, low sound levels, reliability and versatility. It will be a complete game changer for our patients and our team.”
