Cleveland Clinic H145

US-based healthcare provider Cleveland Clinic has announced that it is acquiring a fleet of three new Airbus H145s to operate its helicopter air ambulance services

The five-bladed H145s will replace a set of older rotorcraft previously used by the Clinic, alongside its aviation partner PHI Air Medical Services.
The first aircraft is due to begin flying missions in March, with the other two launching in the next few months.

One helicopter will be stationed at Burke Lakefront Airport, and the other at Wadsworth Municipal Airport – both sites are located in the northeastern corner of the US state of Ohio. The third H145 will serve as a backup.

The new air medical helicopters will offer greater safety during operations – including the ability to transport patients more effectively in poor weather conditions. They will be used both for interfacility transfers and on-site emergency response.

UK air ambulance charity Cornwall Air Ambulance recently received a new AW169 helicopter from Leonardo Helicopters.
