Pegasus Aero Group signs Black Hawk lease agreement
The deal, with leasing firm SkyConnect, will support the operator’s expansion into Europe and Latin America
Pegasus Aero Group has signed a long-term, multi-aircraft lease agreement with SkyConnect Leasing for the provision of a fleet of UH-60L Black Hawks for use in wildfire suppression, civil protection, and emergency response operations.
The agreement will allow Pegasus to develop new capabilities for the European and Latin American markets, and strengthen its position as an operator in the heavy-lift helicopter segment.
The first helicopter to be delivered under the contract will arrive in March 2027 under a long-term lease. The contract also includes options that allow for future fleet growth and further collaboration between the two companies.
Pegasus currently operates a mixed fleet of 140 fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, used for a range of special missions operations.
“The addition of the UH-60 Black Hawk represents far more than the arrival of a new aircraft,” explained Miguel Angel Tamarit Almagro, Vice President and Head of Business Development at Pegasus Aero Group. “We are investing in a platform with an outstanding operational record that is becoming an international benchmark for firefighting and emergency missions. This agreement gives us access to distinctive capabilities and enables us to accelerate our growth plan with a sound and sustainable financial structure.”
Airworks recently received a restricted-category UH-60L to support its firefighting operations in Spain.
