Survival Flight 5 to lease helicopter
The emergency transport provider – based in Jerseyville, Illinois – will pay $2,000 a month to the nearby town of Godfrey as part of the deal
The local government of Godfrey, Illinois – a small town located north of the city of St Louis – have announced that they are finalizing an agreement with emergency medical services (EMS) firm Survival Flight 5 to lease its Fire Station 1 helicopter.
The aircraft would be used by Survival Flight 5 to conduct air ambulance services in the region. Under the terms of the lease, the EMS provider would pay $2,000 a month to Godfrey from October 2024.
A vote by the local government on the arrangement is due next week – according to a report by the local Telegraph newspaper, ‘all board members have made it known that they are in favor of the plan’.
In Texas, fellow EMS provider Air Med 12 recently received a new Airbus H135 air ambulance helicopter.
