USA SouthFlight enters new partnership with Greene County, Mississippi
The arrangement will see the air ambulance operator work with the county government to reduce the financial impact of medical transport on local residents
USA SouthFlight, an air medical program run by Air Methods, has entered a one-year community partnership with the local government of Greene County, Mississippi, to bring “affordable, lifesaving air medical transport” to the county’s 13,000 residents.
The partnership will ensure that residents will not face out-of-pocket costs for emergency air medical transport – whether they are insured or uninsured – with the aim of reducing the financial burden on individuals.
Instead, Air Methods will work directly with patients’ insurance providers, and the county government will cover the remaining cost-sharing amounts, subject to an agreed-upon cap.
The partnership will also see Air Methods collaborate with Greene County to host community health and education events, to further strengthen the county’s emergency preparedness and health resources.
“Having quick access to air medical transport can make a critical difference in emergency situations,” said Trent Robertson, Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director. “We’re grateful to Air Methods for bringing this service to our community and helping us keep our residents safe.”
PHI Cares recently renewed a similar arrangement with the government of Caldwell County, Texas.
