The air medical charity was established in 2000, and has now responded to over 27,000 patients

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), which serves the English counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, and Bedfordshire, is marking a quarter century since its foundation.

The charity, which was registered with the UK Charity Commission on 6 September 2000, took its first flights in early 2001.

Since then, it has provided emergency medical services to over 27,000 patients by air and road, and flies helicopters 24/7 from two bases in the cities of Norwich and Cambridge.

EAAA stated that, on average, it now treats around six people experiencing critical care emergencies in its region every day.

“Our 25-year milestone is a moment to pause, reflect and give heartfelt thanks to the remarkable people who make our 24/7 lifesaving work, by air and road, possible,” said Matthew Jones, CEO of East Anglian Air Ambulance. “Your continued support will help us reach even more people in the years to come.”
