Avincis awarded new firefighting contracts in Spain
The emergency aerial services provider has secured new wildfire response contracts, deploying 14 aircraft to support firefighting operations across the country
Avincis has secured new contracts to enhance Spain’s wildfire response capabilities. The agreements, awarded by the country’s Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha, will see 14 aircraft deployed as part of Spain’s national wildfire prevention and emergency response efforts.
The new contracts expand on Avincis’ existing partnerships with several regional governments, including Andalusia, Aragon, Valencia, and Galicia. The company currently operates a fleet of 39 firefighting aircraft in Spain and employs more than 300 specialists dedicated to supporting regional wildfire response efforts.

Under the MITECO contract, Avincis will deploy 10 helicopters between 2025 and 2027. These include nine medium-type Bell 412 helicopters for water bombing and personnel transport, and one semi-heavy Super Puma helicopter.
Two separate contracts will add four aircraft to the region’s firefighting efforts in Castilla- La Mancha. These include two Super Puma helicopters to be operated over the next three seasons and two Bell 412 helicopters for the next two seasons.
Earlier this month Avincis dispatched aerial firefighters to Israel.
