Avincis dispatches aerial firefighters to Israel
European emergency aviation firm Avincis will provide assistance in fighting wildfires in the area around the city of Tel Aviv
Avincis has mobilized two of its Italian-based Canadair CL-415 firebombers to assist in fighting a major wildfire in Israel.
The aircraft, which are capable of dropping 6,000L of water at a time, will offer Israeli fire crews air support in combating the blaze.
“We welcome the opportunity to support the people and communities of Israel by sending two Canadair CL-415s to help fight the wildfires around Tel Aviv,” said John Boag, Group CEO of Avincis. “In these situations, it is important to react quickly and mobilize aircraft as soon as possible – I am immensely proud of my team for getting this mission off the ground in under 24 hours.”
Last year, Avincis mobilized its Italian CL-415 fleet as part of the rescEU mechanism to provide additional support with large wildfires in Greece, Albania and Portugal.
The Italian fixed-wing fleet was also the focus of a provider profile in the April 2025 edition of AirMed&Rescue.
